Ingredients :
- Rice - 1 cup
- Water - 2 cups
- Onions - 1/2 cup
- Green Chillies - as per taste
- Mustard seeds- 1tspn
- Jeera - 1tspn
- Urad dal - 1tspn
- Chana dal - 1tspn
- Curry leafs - few
- Salt to taste
- Oil
Procedure :
- Soak the rice for 10mins and let it dry completely on a towel
- Coarse grind the soaked rice and keep it aside
- In a pan add oil and mustard seeds, jeera, urad dal and chana dal when the seeds start to splutter add the curry leaf's
- Add onions and saute till light golden and add 2 cups of water , and salt and bring it to a light boil
- Add the ground Rice flour and cover it with a lid
- keep it on low flame for 5-8 mins and mix in between
- Serve hot with tomato chutney !!!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Rice Flour
- 2 cups shredded Bottle Guard (Sorakaya Thurumu)
- 3-4 Green Chilies
- 1/4in Ginger
- 2 pods Garlic
- 1 Onion
- 2 tsps Jeera
- 2 tsps Butter
- Salt to Taste
- Oil for frying
Procedure:
- Grind onion, green chilies, ginger, and garlic to a smooth paste
- In a large bowl take equal quantity of shredded bottle guard and rice flour add the green chilies paste, salt and butter and mix it will
- Once the dough is formed make small balls of the dough
- Take a zip lock bad and apply little oil to it, take one dough ball and press with hand or using a rolling pin to form a mini chapatti
- Heat the oil in a deep pan for frying these mini chapattis, once the oil is hot enough fry the Sorakaya chakalu till golden brown
- Tea time snack is ready to eat!!!!
Tip:
- Adjust the quantity of rice flour to shredded bottle guard to form a dough, as the consistency may change depending on the moisture in the bottle guard
