Coconut Burfi


Ingredients:
  • 3 cups shredded coconut
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 3 tbsps butter
  • 2 tsps Cardamom powder

Procedure:
  • Add the sugar and water and butter to a large pan
  • Keep stirring the sugar syrup till it forms a soft ball consistency, this may take 20-25 minutes
  • Once the sugar syrup reaches the soft ball consistency add the shredded coconut and cardamom powder
  • Keep stirring it continuously and let it cook for 10-15 minutes
  • Apply little butter to you hands and make small balls to make coconut laddu or
  • Pour this mixture onto a lightly greased plate and cut it into your desired shapes
  • let it cool down completely for 2-3 hrs
  • Coconut burfi is ready to eat!!!
Tip:
  • Make sure the sugar syrup comes to a soft ball consistency, else the burfi will be soft and will not harden
  • Add any food color of your choice to make the burfi look colorful
