Allam Pachidi / Ginger Pickle

Ingredients:
  • Ginger root / Allam
  • 1 Tbspn Mustard seeds / Aavalu
  • 5-10 RedChillies/ Endu Mirapakayalu (Depending on the spice you want)
  • 1 Tspn FenuGreek Seeds/Mentulu
  • Hing / Inguva
  • 2 Tbspn Sugar
  • Tamarind / Chintapandu
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
Procedure:
  • Take oil in a pan and add mustard seeds
  • Once the seeds start to splutter add the Fenugreek seeds , Hing and red chilies
  • Soak the tamarind in very little water for 10-15 mins
  • Cut the ginger into small pieces and grind along with the tamarind and mustard seeds mixture
  • Add the salt and sugar according to taste
